Retail Jeweller – Inspiring Independents Awards

Studex were delighted to be Silver Sponsors of the Retail Jeweller Inspiring Independents Awards held recently at the Pullman London St Pancras.

Other sponsors included the CMJ (Company of Master Jewellers), TH March (Jewellery & Watch Insurers) and Ti Sento Jewellery. Family business WOLF, the premier name in luxury jewellery accessories, watch boxes, cases and watch winders, established in 1834, were the headline partner, and it was a truly special event to be involved in with other prestigious organisations from the industry.

Attended by four members of the Studex Team, the Drinks Reception, provided the perfect opportunity to meet and catch up with sponsors and nominated independents – something that many have not been able to do for some time! Following a welcome speech from Ruth Faulkner, Editor of Retail Jeweller, we enjoyed a delicious three course meal prior to the hotly anticipated Awards Ceremony where the Highly Commended Regional Winners from the short list received their prizes. The Awards were revealed by Ruth Faulkner, Editor of Retail Jeweller, with Simon Wolf from the Headline Partner handing out the awards to the winners.

And the winners were….!

The North: Berry’s
A highly recognisable name in jewellery celebrating its 125th anniversary. Berries have expanded to 9 stores with two premises in York, three in Leeds, one in Hull, Newcastle, Nottingham and Windsor.

The Southeast: Harriet Kelsall Bespoke Jewellery
A jeweller who has successfully built a business in Hertfordshire, London and Cambridge with design studio stores and has established an incredible customer base which has led to over 10,000 bespoke commissions since 1998.

Scotland and Ireland: Jack Murphy Jewellers
Newry based business that marks the 50th anniversary of the family business. With a designated bridal area and a coffee and champagne bar, the business has continued to expand and succeed.

Midlands: Lumbers
Leicester based business with an established local heritage and pride in its city’s roots. Now in its third family generation, Lumbers is well known for VIP events alongside its fine jewellery and watch offering.

The Southwest and Wales: Michael Spiers
With four stores in Plymouth, Truro, Exeter and Taunton, Michael Spiers was established over 60 years ago and stays in the family. Specialists in luxury jewellery and Swiss watch brands, the company has also seen its ecommerce business continue to grow.

It was great to see Studex businesses had been nominated with each of the team being able to spend time at dinner with representatives from our partners. It was our first time sponsoring and attending the awards and it proved such a magnificent event to celebrate how retailers have come out fighting from the pandemic and had to adapt their businesses to meet new shopping demands.

Huge congratulations to all finalists and the Highly Commended winners on the day.

We shall look forward to seeing everyone again at the UK Jewellery Festival on 1st September at the Hilton London Metropole.
