3 Trends for 2020

Every industry is informed by trends. Here at Studex, fashion, jewellery and colour trends are hugely important in understanding consumer demand and therefore shaping our collections and offerings. There will of course always be those staple pieces that feature in everybody’s jewellery collection, but what trends have emerged on the catwalk and how do these translate to the everyday consumer and your business?

In this post, we’ll be highlighting 3 trends that apply to jewellers and salons, that buyers should incorporate into their product line.

Pearls

Pearls are a big feature for Spring 2020. From single drop earrings to necklaces and headpieces, everyone was wearing them on the catwalk. As always, some of the runway looks aren’t entirely easy to wear in the everyday, but here are our favourite wearable picks to add to your offerings.

Colour

It’s not all silver and gold. The runway saw an explosion of colour this year. From florals to beading, gemstones and mismatched combinations, 2020 is all about having fun!

A big colour feature of course PANTONE 19-4052, the 2020 colour of the year. A timeless and enduring blue, here’s what you can expect:

“PANTONE 19-4052 Classic Blue is elegant in its simplicity. Suggestive of the sky at dusk, the reassuring qualities of the thought-provoking PANTONE 19-4052 Classic Blue highlights our desire for a dependable and stable foundation on which to build as we cross the threshold into a new era.

Imprinted in our psyches as a restful colour, PANTONE 19-4052 Classic Blue brings a sense of peace and tranquillity to the human spirit, offering refuge. Aiding concentration and bringing laser like clarity, PANTONE 19-4052 Classic Blue re-centres our thoughts. A reflective blue tone, Classic Blue fosters resilience.”

We have such a huge range of colourful options, so it was difficult to choose just a few. But here goes…

Heirlooms

According to Libby Page, senior fashion market editor at Net-A-Porter, 2020 is the year for heirlooms, she says “Jewellery is all about personality and pieces with emotion that hold a personal touch,”.

We all know what an amazing gift jewellery can be and what special memories pieces can hold as time goes by, so we’re sure this year people will be looking to invest in classic pieces they’ll be able to pass on through the generations.

Personal preference will always play a part in these decisions, but here’s a sneak peek at 3 pieces you can start shopping now.
